Our Roots
In Exodus 3:14, God introduced Himself to Moses using the phrase "I AM WHO I AM." This phrase carries deep significance as it reveals God's self-existent and eternal nature. By proclaiming "I AM," God affirms His timeless existence and unchanging nature, highlighting His sovereignty and authority over all things.
The phrase "I AM" goes beyond a simple declaration of existence. It conveys that God is the ultimate source of all existence and the ultimate reality. He does not rely on anything or anyone for His existence. When God revealed His name to Moses, it assured that the One sending him was the eternal and self-sufficient God. This revelation was significant because it assured Moses that the God of their ancestors, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, was the one sending him to deliver the Israelites from slavery. It reaffirmed God's faithfulness to His covenant with their forefathers and His commitment to deliver His people.
The name "I AM" is a powerful declaration of God's nature and character. It symbolizes His eternal existence, His self-sufficiency, and His authority. It serves as a reminder that God is the ultimate source of life and the One who upholds and sustains all things.
MISSION
The Great I Am I Am is a non-profit [501(c)3] organization that was created to bring relief to the poor, the distressed, and the underprivileged. Our mission is to deliver and uplift the lives of the needy and provide hope to those who cry out for help. We strive to support the poor, the oppressed, and those without a helper, exerting every effort to bring salvation and liberation from the shackles of oppression and violence. We value every life as precious in the sight of God and aim to bring about positive change in their circumstances. This mission statement encapsulates the essence of Psalm 72:12-14, emphasizing the importance of helping and advocating for the needy, providing them with assistance, and valuing their well-being as highly significant.
